: THE HISTORY OF THE ST ANNE’S-ON-THE-SEA LIFEBOAT STATION 1881 – 1925
First Edition ( not stated) Hard to find title
Very well illustrated throughout mainly from old black and white photographs of great historical interest and almost all published for the first time, with a definitive history of the lifeboat station at St Anne’s on the Sea on the Fylde coast of Lancashire. The work of this lifeboat was brought to the attention of the nation when its crew of 13 men was lost when trying to reach a stranded vessel. The book also examines in detail the growth of the township during the late 19th century following its foundation in 1875.
A very attractive and well produced book . A great gift for any one connected with the area. ..Ref: 984
