Susan Parry

Local author based in Swaledale

Susan Parry is the author of the Yorkshire Dales Mysteries published by Viridian Publishing. There are now four books in the series and and with the successful launch of ‘Craven Scar’ in September 2010 she has already put pen to paper for the next in the series, with publication planned for Summer 2011.

Susan began writing when her twin daughters were small, and she was working full time as a university professor at Imperial College. She now devotes more time to her consultancy work, including forensic studies and archaeological investigations which provide inspiration for her writing.  Her husband, Mark, is retired so they are now able to spend more time together in the family home in Swaledale, where the views from her farmhouse are a real inspiration. Together they have walked many of the areas described in the books, accompanied by their Airedale terrier, Elvis. Her daughters, Elspeth and Alice are now grown up and, interestingly, both have careers in crime, but on the right side of the law!
